Are you playing offense or defense?

If I asked you who your doctor was and how long it's been since your last visit, would you think I was getting too personal?

You're right - it is personal because the answer is YOU! Ok, ok - so maybe you don't have a medical degree, but you can (and should) be your own "primary care advocate"....

Don't get me wrong, doctors are very important and incredibly vital to the world, but when it comes to our everyday wellness, a more accurate title to describe our healthcare system is "sickcare." In other words, doctors play more of a defensive (treating illness) role in our life, rather than on offensive (preventative) one.

We can't show up for our annual checkup and hope for a clean bill of health each year. Instead, we need to take matters into our own hands and make sure we are implementing habits and necessary changes to take care of our body and minds on an ongoing basis. We have to be our own "PCA" when we're healthy so we have a better chance of staying that way.

So what does that look like? For starters, we have to begin with the fundamentals. Sleep, hydration, movement and a balanced diet.

When we're trying to make changes for the better, I'm a huge advocate of "adding in" things versus removing them. It's important for us not to feel deprived or restricted. And, you'll naturally find that the more "good" you add into your life will naturally crowd out the "not so good"...;)

So, if you want to focus on nutrition, but veggies are already a tough one for you (and/or your kids), the stars have aligned! Just in time for St. Patrick's Day, I wanted to give you this FREE Green Smoothie guide! What better (and more delicious) way to get some extra veggies into your diet than by way of yummy smoothie! There's dozens of recipes that could be snacks, meals, desserts or a fun replacement for that green beer on the 17th ;)

And as always, if you need guidance in any of these areas, please schedule a free consultation!
